ProDes organises various events for training and networking. All events will be announced in this section of the website with information on how you can participate.

 

  • The phase of the ProDes project that was co-funded by the IEE programme has been completed on the 30th of September 2010. However, the team is committed to continue its activites, mainly through the implementation of the Road Map. To take part join the working group.
  • The first five editions of the ProDes e-learing course have been completed. The two week course provides an overview of the whole renewable energy desalination field. The students that complete it successfully are provided with an attendance certificate.
  • A networking workshop was organised in Athens, Greece on the 29th of March 2010, with representatives from relevant companies, local authorities and the industry. From the link below you can download all the presentations given on the day.
  • On the 24th of February a course for professionals was organised in Athens, Greece. It dealt with the combination of desalination with renewable energy and its applications in Greece.
  • On the 26th of February a networking workshop was organised in the University of Algarve in Faro, Portugal on the subject of "Water production through Desalination with Renewable Energy". It was attended by product suppliers and potential users of the technology like representatives from hotels and golf clubs.
  • A 4-day intensive course was organised in Athens, Greece giving to the students a good overview of the possible renewbale energy-desaliantion combinations, including practical training and two operating RE-desalination systems will be visited. The course was very successful with more than 70 students attending
  • The first ProDes course for professionals on the basic principles, the state of art and the most promising technologies of RES Desalination was organised at the Platforma Solar of Ciemat in Almeria from 19. - 21. October 2009. The course was fully booked with 25 professionals from all around the world attending it.
  • The ProDes panel debate for the RE-Desalination roadmap which will be developed within ProDes took place on 18. March 2009 at the EDS conference in Baden-Baden. A short overview about some different RE-desalination technologies was given. The discussion focused on the technological, economic and social barriers seen by the audience.
  • March-June 2009 the first Higher Education course was implemented at the University of Palermo, Italy. About 60 students of the Engineering Faculty attended the course with enthusiastic response. The course was included among the courses for the Chemical Engineering degree and included a visit to a local desalination plant.
    • ProDes was presented through a keynote speech at the EuroMed2008 Conference that was organised by the European Desalination Society in Jordan on 10. - 13. November 2008
